Apparently all it takes to make the front page is a 12×5 sinkhole that is about 4 feet deep in your field.

This image is from the NWI Times.
Here is Mitch’s second claim to fame in NWI.
There are a couple of articles you can read, this one is talking about everything in the area and this one is talking about all of the flooding at the field.
Our games today have now been officially canceled. It does finally look promising that we’ll be able to start them tomorrow!
Stay dry!

I was mostly joking yesterday when I said I should head to Cabela’s. However with roads closing around us and the rivers still rising, it is getting a little worrisome.
According to weather.com the chance of precipitation through 1:00 is 100% and at 2:00 it drops to 80%. As of now they have it dropping down to 30% and staying there from 3:00 on.
No pictures today, mainly because they all look the same as yesterday. That, and it is raining like crazy right now, so there is no chance that I’m taking my camera outside!
Hopefully we’ll know the fate of our games in the next hour or so.

I have to start this post out with some good news and bad news. The bad news… it’s almost 11 here and the game just got over not too long ago. The good news… The RailCats won which puts them one game from clinching a playoff spot!
Anyway, even better news is that I have a few more shots from Rachelle and David’s wedding. I hope you enjoy!

The way that David looks at Rachelle really just melted my heart. I have a few more images of him that you can just really see how much he loves her in his eyes.

Ever since my own wedding I can’t make it through a father-daughter dance with dry eyes. This one would have been absolutely impossible. I don’t think there were too many dry eyes in the room after this one.

David’s mom was just beaming throughout their entire dance.

Shorty and David, thank you again for letting me play such an important role in your day!

Where did my life summer go? Seeing as how it’s been a long while since I last posted, you can probably guess that I underestimated the time that I would spend at the ballpark. Although I haven’t had much, or really anytime this summer, I have kept shooting. The nice thing has been that besides the daily baseball shoots, I have been making an effort to shoot more for myself. I’ll slowly share some of those images now that I am getting closer to having my life back.
However, this should not come as a shock that the only images I have handy right now are baseball shots. Here is one that I got when Mitch, my friend Maribeth, and I drove up to Canada for the Northern League All Star Game. It worked out that the guys were playing in Fargo the day before, so we stopped there first.

To say that life has been crazy would be an absolute understatement. Mitch and I haven’t spent a single night at home in over two weeks. Funny thing (not really funny) is that our next day off won’t be until June 14th because of the way the schedule falls. The majority of the recent nights we spent at the ballpark until about 10 or 11, there was one 4a.m. morning/night in there also though.
Last week Mitch’s parents came out for a visit. I definitely don’t feel like we were very good tour guides. Thanks to our schedules, we really only got to take them into Chicago on Saturday before we took them back to the airport. We did get to head up the Sears Tower and out to Wrigley though.
My parents fly in Friday through Tuesday. I’m fearing that my hostess skills aren’t going to be quite up to par again since the team is home Fri-Sun. Hopefully we’ll get to catch some sites though.
Since I haven’t had many RailCat free moments lately, I don’t have any new portraits to get up. The plan is to work on those after my parents and the team leave Tuesday night. I am going to share one ballpark shot and a couple shots of Chicago from the Sears Tower.

Doesn’t Mitch have the field looking absolutely beautiful?! He also added a few of his signature paint jobs.
The last shot is actually available here on our multimedia page to set as your wallpaper on your computer.
Thanks everyone for continuing to check in here over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully the longest dry spell of no posts this blog will ever see is over.

I know that this isn’t as good as a cute baby, but this is the only proof I can post up from my day that is photo related to prove that I really am swamped. The rest of the proof will be on the outfield wall for anyone who comes to a RailCats game. This picture is going to be used on our official scorecard.
I almost forgot about this… Cydni is going to be selling limited edition posters of pictures I take throughout the season or designs I do in the store. The first one actually isn’t anything too fancy it is basically just all of our logos, but for RailCats fans it is definitely something that would be neat to frame up on the wall.

Life has gotten a little crazy around here while we try to prepare for opening day down at the stadium. I’m going to try like crazy to work on some more pictures from last week on my lunch breaks, but my posts might be scarce through next Thursday!

Here is the image. Not a great scan, but we did manage to get our hands on a few copies of it for family. Who would have thought that the Friday Post Tribune would be such a hot issue that most gas stations would be sold out by the time we got off!
Just a sidenote to anyone hoping to get an appointment on this trip back, slots are filling up quickly. There are a couple left, I believe those are for Friday and Saturday’s slots.

With the RailCats getting ready to start their season, Mitch has spent some of his time on the phone with reporters lately. He just kind of assumed that they might use a quote or two from him in articles, but Friday they ran what was almost a full page story on him in the Post Tribune complete with a big beautiful picture. I can’t access the picture online, but here is a link to the story http://www.post-trib.com/sports/highschools/901911,tobaseball.article . We’re about to get kicked out of the library, but I’ll get the picture posted up tomorrow. I’m so proud of him!

I didn’t notice when I logged on this weekend, but I hit the 500 views mark! Don’t be shy, leave me a comment if you’re viewing, I’d love to know who is all out there!
This pic obviously isn’t mine since we haven’t started our season yet. It is however the stadium here and my digital handiwork. Today was a little big of a crazy day at the ballpark, so it’s only fitting that it makes it’s way here.
