When Mitch and I moved out here I commited that I was finally going to put everything into my photography and just do it and go full time. For the last couple of months I’ve done exactly that and have loved every second of it. Nothing is going to change with my photography, but I also had a pretty great opportunity come along.
Most everyone knows that Mitch and I are a baseball family. We’re big Rockies fans and we both could watch baseball and softball until we’re blue in the face. What brought us out to Indiana was baseball. Mitch is the head grounds keeper for the Gary Southshore Railcats, a minor league baseball team. Last week Mitch asked me if I would be interested in trying for a position with the team. It turns out that their current photographer and graphic designer is taking a job in the city (Chicago). Well, Monday I start as the graphic designer and photographer for the Railcats. I’m incredibly excited for this chance and am thinking that mixing in this extra creativity is only going to help my photography. So, if I come up missing a little these next couple of weeks please bear with me while I adjust to essentially two full time jobs.
I will still be making regular trips back to Colorado for shoots. The only dates that are set in stone right now are Aug 30 and Oct 4. I am looking for more appointments around those days. Besides that, you can email me at info@annalynchmcclary.com and let me know when you’d be interested in setting up a time.

I’ve been wanting to get this blog up and going for a few months, but being a master procrastinator led me to put it off. Now that I’ve finally done it, expect some new work and a little of the old to give everyone a little spotlight time.

When I was back in Colorado, one of the sessions that I was blessed with was for my good friends, Kayte and Brent’s little man Brady. I pretty much spent the entire day just hanging out with them, mostly because he’s grown way too much since we moved out here and I knew it was going to be awhile before I got to see him again. Brady is pretty close to 6 months in these images.

I almost edited this one out. The more I looked at it though, the more that I loved it. I think the look on his face is just priceless.

Hopefully next time we get to spend a little more time outside!

Since we finally had a cleared schedule with Brady and Lance, we decided to take advantage of it and get some shots of the cousins together.
I have a lot of fun photographing out in the country and in rural Colorado. It keeps your mind turning for different spots. I’ve also had to really look at ordinary spots and wonder what I could do with them. Yes, I’m a geek, that’s fun to me!

In a little over a month Lance will be a high school graduate. He will also walk away from high school as a 2A basketball state champion and has a pretty good shot of having the same success with baseball.
We had originally planned on getting Lance’s pictures done before I moved out to Indiana. However, back in January he injured his knee and had to have knee surgery. That obviously took precedents over any kind of schedule we had planned. Lance thought that he would be done with basketball thanks to the injury, but ended up making a ridiculously quick recovery to make it back for the end of the season.

I love a little moody lighting. Add that to some nice pitching shots and it comes out pretty cool.

It kills me to put anything North Carolina on this blog. Lance is a big UNC fan, so if was pretty important that be included in his senior pics. Oh, and GO DUKE (we’ll get them next year)!

I was lucky enough to get to know Brady a few years ago. My husband coached his Babe Ruth baseball team and then moved up with Brady’s class and also coached his legion team.
We were pretty fortunate to be able to squeeze in his senior pictures while I was back in Colorado. Between all of the sports Boo plays and school, it was challenging. It’s pretty crazy for me to think that in a month Brady will be done with high school and moving onto college.

Doesn’t Brady just have killer eyes?

We lucked out and got a beautiful day.

Halfway through high school Revere and Julesburg combined sports programs and became Sedgwick County. This one was Brady’s idea and I think that it was a pretty cool one.
